Awareness raising events was welcomed by the students

Awareness raising events dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the State Migration Service held in the capital and districts for the informing society, foreigners and stateless persons are continuing. The following event in this series was held at Baku State University. At the meeting, a competent representative of the Service with the participation of teachers and students enlightened the audience with the events realized during the 10 years of the State Migration Service, its activity directions, rendered services, as well as achievements gained within the short period of time.

Moreover, the official website of the service (www.migration.gov.az) was also presented. It was noted that it is impossible to imagine the migration services apart from the achievements of modern information technologies. In accordance with the Decree of the President Ilham Aliyev dated 24 May 2011 on "Several measures in organizing State agencies’ e-service rendering", a special section has been created on an official website for rendering "E-Service" by the State Migration Service. It’s worth mentioning, in particular, that today applications are received via 11 electronic services which were integrated to SMS “Electronic government” portal and decisions on each application are given in compliance with the relevant legislation. This, in turn, ensures the comfort, efficiency, as well as transparency for applicants.

At the moment, the official website of the service is operating in 3 languages - Azerbaijani, English and Russian languages. Information posted on the website under relevant sections are updated on a regular basis.  In addition, necessary organizational measures have been taken to facilitate the use of “Question-Answer” section, online guide services and to provide receiving legal advice in a timely manner for foreigners and stateless persons.

The following event was held at Azerbaijan Medical University. During the event, the audience was informed about the events realized throughout 10 years and the substantial measures taken in the direction of protecting migrants rights. It was mentioned that since its first day of operation the service has always efficiently enlightened the public about the novelties and crucial events related to migration processes.

Informative speeches of the service officials on various radio and TV channels, broadcast of programs and video materials containing the information about the activities of the Service and migration procedures, conduction of awareness-raising events in different regions of the country, and publication of booklets for the target groups were organised for the aim of raising awareness in the society about migration processes. It was noted that provision of information for those who use "Call Center" (012 919) in 3 languages is of significant importance for ensuring the right of access to necessary information.
