Awareness raising events held in Sabirabad and Saatli

On the occasion of 10th anniversary of the establishment of State Migration Service, the awareness raising event was held in Sabidarad district included to the service area of Shirvan regional migration department.  At the event held at Heydar Aliyev Center with the participation of representatives of executive bodies of the cities, towns and villages,  heads of departments and institutions, officers of law-enforcement bodies, citizens, foreigners and stateless persons  detailed information was given about the rules on registration upon place of stay, grounds for the issuance of temporary and permanent residence permits, required documents, application forms, as well as measures taken with regard to the eradication of statelessness. It was noted that since April 1, 2013, when registration upon place of stay was entrusted to the State Migration Service 2.560.767 foreigners and stateless persons who entered the republic were registered upon place of stay according to their staying period in the country. Even though to receive and consider so many applications is not as easy as it sounds, professional staff of such a mobile entity successfully manages these issues.

It was mentioned that this year celebrating its 10th anniversary, State Migration Service successfully implements state policy in the sphere of migration, management and regulation of migration processes as envisaged by the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Service which has the status of law-enforcement body, during the past period granted 70 994 persons the citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan and they were provided with documents approving the citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan by relevant state agencies.

Another event was held in Saatli district included to the service area of Shirvan regional migration department. At the event, detailed information was given about activity directions of SMS, novelties covering migration legislation, and the rules on use of foreign labor. It was noted that all the competencies of unified state authority on the principle of “one-stop-shop” in the management of migration were entrusted to State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan. During these 10 years, the Service successfully fulfills the tasks that were set before it and serve even harder to justify the confidence shown by the government.

It was also mentioned that today the entrance date of foreigners and stateless persons to the country,  their place of residence, place of work and exit date are completely under control of State Migration Service through the Unified Migration Information System, which enables to have full picture of the dynamics of migration processes occurring in the country. Moreover, comprehensive information was given about the works realized by State Migration Service on issues of citizenship, establishment of citizenship, grounds for granting refugee status and etc. 

At the end of both events mobile services were rendered for citizens and in general applications of 30 citizens were received.
