Official statistics of The State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan for November 2016

Relevant measures towards implementation of state policy in migration sphere, strengthening state control over migration processes, management and regulation of migration processes, as well as prevention of illegal migration have been conducted by the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan during November of 2016.

During the month 1855 cases concerning infringement of requirements of administrative legislation by foreigners and stateless persons without observing rules of stay, temporary and permanent residence in the Republic of Azerbaijan have been revealed. Lost documents of 17 foreigners for temporary or permanent residence were replaced with new ones. 190 of them were fined and their residence in the country was legalized. Decisions were made on 1260 foreigners to leave the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 48 hours and on 388 foreigners to be removed in administrative order from the country.

In total during the month SMS received 9512 applications on extension of temporary staying period, granting temporary and permanent residence permissions, adoption, revocation and restoration of citizenship, as well as establishment of citizenship and determination of refugee status, issuing work permits for carrying out labor activity and extending period of existing work permits from foreigners and stateless persons. Each application was investigated in accordance with legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and relevant decisions were made.

45709 applications for registration upon place of stay were registered during the last month.

During the month State Migration Service conducted 4 awareness raising events in different regions of the republic, as well as mobile services for 80 persons were rendered.

1 citizen of Republic of Iraq Ahmad Abdulhag Ismael was detained as a result of measures taken by State Migration Service against illegal migration.

During the investigation it was revealed that Ahmad Abdulhag Ismael organized departure Iraqi citizens for foreign countries in the guise of education. Thus Ahmad Abdulhaq Ismael arranged departure Iraqi citizens for the countries such as Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Russian Federation, Ukraine, Malaysia, and India for the purpose of education within the period when he led “Karkuk Center for Education Services” company functioning in Karkuk city of Iraq. Since 2016 Ahmad Abdulhaq Ismael has begun to organize his compatriots’ arrival in the Republic of Azerbaijan by deception. Ahmad Abdulhaq Ismael organized arrivals 30 Iraqi citizens in the Republic of Azerbaijan in return for payment in a certain amount in the guise of receiving education at institute of higher education functioning in our country and accommodated them in different addresses. However, he did not fulfill necessary procedure for those foreigners’ admission to the institutes of higher education and arrogated large amount of money he got from his compatriot through fraud.

Measures are taken to involve Ahmad Abdulhaq Ismael in administrative liability related to revealed facts.
