Official statistics of The State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan For October 2016
Relevant measures towards implementation of state policy in migration sphere, strengthening state control over migration processes, management and regulation of migration processes, as well as prevention of illegal migration have been conducted by the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan during October of 2016.
During the month 2299 cases concerning infringement of requirements of administrative legislation by foreigners and stateless persons without observing rules of stay, temporary and permanent residence in the Republic of Azerbaijan have been revealed. Lost documents of 18 foreigners for temporary or permanent residence were replaced with new ones. 212 of them were fined and their residence in the country was legalized. Decisions were made on 1576 foreigners to leave the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 48 hours and on 493 foreigners to be removed in administrative order from the country.
In total during the month SMS received 10807 applications on extension of temporary staying period, granting temporary and permanent residence permissions, adoption, revocation and restoration of citizenship, as well as establishment of citizenship and determination of refugee status, issuing work permits for carrying out labor activity and extending period of existing work permits from foreigners and stateless persons. Each application was investigated in accordance with legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and relevant decisions were made.
45874 applications for registration upon place of stay were registered during the last month.
During the month State Migration Service conducted 6 awareness raising events in different regions of the republic.
3 citizens of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and 4 citizens of People’s Republic of Bangladesh were detained as a result of measures taken by State Migration Service against illegal migration.
During the investigation it was revealed that for the purpose of generating income Bangladesh citizen Rony MD Iftekjeir Uddin and Pakistani citizen Latif Muhammad brought their compatriots to Azerbaijan by deceiving them with employment. Thus, these persons accommodated citizens of Bangladesh and Pakistan whom they invited to the Republic of Azerbaijan false promises at different addresses, came to agreement on receiving temporary residence permit for them by illegal means. It was revealed that Bangladesh citizen Rony MD Iftekjeir Uddin who was trying to cover his illegal acts with full-time education in Azerbaijan, promised to obtain temporary residence permit for his countryman Miah Tanim and requested 2000 manats in return.
At the same time it was revealed that the accomplice of Rony MD Iftekjeir Uddin, Latif Muhammad arranged Pakistani citizen Tariq Muhammad Hassan’s marriage of convenience with Azerbaijani citizen Aliyeva Zehra Allahverdi qizi with the purpose of receiving temporary residence permit for him. During the conducted interview Z.Aliyeva said that Latif Muhammad offered 300 manats in return for concluding marriage of convenience with Tariq Muhammad Hassan. Z.Aliyeva stated that she agreed with Latif Muhammad’s offer, but because of some difficulties emerged later on, they couldn’t conclude their marriage with Tariq Muhammad Hassan. Besides, Z.Aliyeva confessed that she was going to marry to Tariq Muhammad Hassan only on paper, was not planning to live together with him.
As a result of taken measures the acts of Latif Muhammad and Rony MD Iftekjeir Uddin have been exposed and detained foreigners have been involved in administrative liability.
