Round table held on the results of the Joint Evaluation carried out among the persons granted refugee status by the Government of Azerbaijan
Joint round table was held on the problems of the foreigners and stateless persons obtained refugee status in the Republic of Azerbaijan at the initiative of UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and with the organizational support of the Cabinet of Ministers and State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event aimed to further improve the favorable condition created for the persons granted with refugee status within the period of their stay in the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as to promote the socio-economic and other rights set out in the current legislative acts and international conventions.
It should be noted that currently the number of the third country nationals granted with refugee status by the Government of Azerbaijan is 70. Furthermore, approximately 1500 foreigners and stateless persons who are under the protection of UNHCR Office in Azerbaijan, settled on humanitarian grounds and have been registered upon place of stay by State Migration Service live on the territory of the country.
At the round table information was provided on the Joint Evaluation conducted in February 2016 among the persons granted with refugee status by the Government of Azerbaijan and its results were discussed with the participation of relevant authorities.
Competent representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, UNHCR Office in Azerbaijan, State Migration Service, as well as other relevant state agencies attended the event.
