Meeting on “Solution of citizenship issues and works done in this direction” was held in Zagatala

Event on “Solution of citizenship issues and works done in this direction” was held in Zagatala which is included to the service area of Skaki regional migration department with participation of representatives from city, town and village territorial administrative units of the region, foreigners and stateless persons and citizens in order to raise public awareness in the field of migration legislation. The event participants were broadly informed on the activity of the State Migration Service which implements competences of the single state authority on “one-stop-shop” principle in the area of regulation and management of migration processes in our country. It was noted that State Migration Service realizes its activity based on the principles of rule of law, humanity and respect to human rights and liberties and always gives importance to the protection of migrants’ rights. Relevant information on measures taken by the Service related with registration upon place of stay of foreigners and stateless persons, temporary staying, issuance and extension of temporary and permanent residence and work permits, citizenship issues was provided in the meeting. It was emphasized that foreigners should apply to State Migration Service and its regional departments, legalize their temporary staying and residence within the territory of the country, carry out their activity on legal basis, be aware of our existing laws in this area and obey them.

Circumstances constituting grounds for recognition of person’s affiliation to the citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan according to “Rules for establishment of the citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan” approved with Decision №84 of Cabinet of Ministers dated from March 18, 2015 was discussed in detail.

On the very same day mobile service was rendered in Zagatala region in order to organize receipt of all kind of applications to the State Migration Service by foreigners and stateless persons promptly and on the spot. 49 of 85 persons who participated at the awareness raising event used opportunities of mobile service. Documents related with establishment of citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan from 6 of them and acquisition of citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan from one person, were received. As well as permission cards for temporary residence on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan and references on establishment of citizenship were presented to 11 and 9 persons, respectively. Besides, 22 persons were informed on determination of affiliation to citizenship, obtaining permits for temporary, as well as permanent residence and work permits and were presented list of documents to apply.
