25th anniversary of the restoration of state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan celebrated at State Migration Service
An event on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the restoration of state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held at State Migration Service.
At the event First Deputy Chief of State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor Vali Naghiyev delivered speech on 25th anniversary of the restoration of state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It was mentioned that Azerbaijan which has been taking its first steps on the way of independence since 1991 was subject to military aggression, as well as genocide and ethnic cleansing policy of Armenia along with political, economic and social crisis. Only as a result of return of National leader Heydar Aliyev to political power in 1993 and wise policy pursued by Great Leader separatism trends and civil war threat were ended, unity of state and people was ensured. Our people obtained opportunity to become stakeholder of international law and to establish democratic, legal and secular state by closely uniting around Azerbaijanism idea. In 1993-2003 solid foundations of the development of Azerbaijan were laid.
It was stated that today ensuring main rights and freedoms of the citizens, existing stability, economic growth, social progress, and cultural development are indicators of democratic atmosphere formed during independency years. Our country attained economic achievements which are highly appreciated by international organizations despite negative results of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
It was brought into attention that only in 2003-2016 years great achievements have been attained in economic and social spheres, the economy of the country has grown more than 3 times, the level of poverty reduced more than 10 times and fell to 5 per cent. At the same time State programs on development of the regions are implemented in Azerbaijan. More than 1 million 300 thousand work places have been opened, modern infrastructure projects have been implemented within this period. More than 3 thousand schools, more than 600 medical centers, more than 40 Olympic sports complex have been built or fundamentally restored.
Election of our country as member of UN Security Council for 2011-2013 by receiving support of 155 states of the world was underlined as confirmation of respect and trust to Azerbaijan in international relations system.
It was emphasized that we celebrate 25th anniversary of state independency with great sense of pride, are proud of our country. Achievements attained under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev allows saying with determination that independence of Azerbaijan is eternal, unbreakable and irreversible.
