Awareness raising events held in Gakh and Zagatala districts
Representatives from city, settlement and village administrative territorial units, citizens, foreigners and stateless persons participated in the events on “Elimination of statelessness, measures against illegal migration and successful results of last years” held in Gakh and Zagatala districts which are included in the service area of Shaki Regional Migration Department with the purpose of raising awareness of people in the field of migration legislation.
At the meetings it was emphasized that State Migration Service which is surrounded with care and attention of President Ilham Aliyev, and set a priority the principles of application of innovative methods and ensuring transparency in management and regulation of migration processes, is proceeding measures according to international standards for provision of observing stay and residence rules in the country by every foreigner and stateless person arriving in our republic, as well as operative and transparent service.
The competent employee of the Service stated that State Migration Service participates in citizenship issues according to Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated from March 6, 2008.
The concrete facts were brought into attention on relevant measures taken by State Migration Service towards elimination of statelessness, revealing and documentation of stateless persons residing in different regions of the country.
The detailed information on works done by State Migration Service which implements the competences of unified state body on “one-stop-shop” principle in the area of regulation and management of migration processes in our country such as registration of foreigners and stateless persons upon place of stay, issuance of temporary and permanent residence, as well as work permits and extending their periods, citizenship issues, establishment of citizenship was met with interest by meeting participants.
It was mentioned that foreigners and stateless persons upon 11 types of service are received by SMS online as well.
At the events explanatory talks were conducted about procedures of registration upon place of stay of foreigners and stateless persons willing to stay in the territory of the country more than 10 days within 10 days in State Migration Service according to requirements of the legislation. The questions interested participants were answered by competent employees of the Service.
After the awareness raising events mobile service was also held in Zagatala. 29 applicants used the opportunities of mobile service. Documents were received from 1 of them on establishment of citizenship, as well as from 1 for issuance of temporary residence permit. 20 references on establishment of citizenship were presented. Besides, a list of documents to apply for establishment of citizenship, obtaining temporary and permanent residence, as well as work permits was presented to 7 persons.
