Meeting with representatives of higher educational establishments and Ministry of Education was held at State Migration Service
The main purpose of the meeting was timely resolution of migration issues of foreign students newly admitted to and studying at higher educational institutes.
Information was given about measures taken by the State Migration Service on management and regulation of migration processes in the Republic of Azerbaijan, innovations in the migration field in our country, addendums made to the legislation, as well as last amendments to the Migration Code were comprehensively discussed at the meeting with the participation of Chief of International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Education Mukhtar Mammadov and other officials from the Ministry, as well as responsible employees of relevant structural units on affairs with foreign students of 35 higher educational establishments functioning in our country.
It was noted that according to the Migration Code application of foreign students for registration upon the place of stay within 10 days after their arrival in the country, as well as application for issuing temporary residence permit before the period of registration upon place of stay expires or in case of temporary residence permit have been issued before 30 days prior to the expiry date of the permission card, should be ensured by the higher educational establishment that they are studying in.
Importance of such explanative talks, awareness raising meetings was specially emphasized in order to prevent violation of rules on stay and residence in the country by foreign students as a result of failure to submit documents timely and properly.
Necessity of regular implementationof works jointly with the Ministry of Education in this direction, careful approach of responsible employees of relevant structural units on affairs with foreign students of the higher educational establishments to this process was specially emphasized at the meeting.
