Chief of the State Migration Service received head of the Representation of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in the Republic of Azerbaijan  

On October 20, 2015 chief of the State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor Firudin Nabiyev received Dag Sigurdson, head of the Representation of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the Republic of Azerbaijan. 

Sincerely greeting the guests Service chief expressed his satisfaction over mutual cooperation between two entities. Talking on successful migration policy implemented in Azerbaijan F. Nabiyev expressed his concern about current situation related to refugees in the world and pressures against migrants who are going to European countries.

Thanking for sincere reception Dag Sigurdson noted their interest for mutual cooperation everytime and positively estimated carried out reforms in our country related to migration processes. He expressed his assurance over persistence of mutual cooperation condition and future achievements.

Cooperation related to statelessness issues in 2016, joint  awareness campaign and legal aid to stateless persons, contribution of Azerbaijan to the global campaign on eradicating statelessness, as well as  improvement of legislation base in the field of asylum issues, either cooperation towards making addendums and amendments were discussed at the meeting.
