Chief of the State Migration Service met with the representatives of International Organization for Migration

Chief of the State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor Firudin Nabiyev talked about the work done in cooperation with International Organization for Migration. Service chief shared his thoughts on the issues like management of migration processes, fight against illegal migration and stressed the significance of international cooperation in regulating migration processes.

Regional Director for Eastern and South-Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the International Organization for Migration, Ms. Renate Held and Officer in charge of IOM Mission in Azerbaijan Mr. Serhan Aktoprak expressed their gratitude for warm reception.

Later on discussion was carried out on importance of the EU-funded “Consolidation of Migration and Border Management Capacities in Azerbaijan” project aiming to contribute to the efforts towards achieving an effective management of procedures and processes regarding the emigration, immigration, transit and asylum flows.

It should be noted that the IOM project “Consolidation of Migration and Border Management Capacities in Azerbaijan” which will be jointly implemented with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Migration Service, the State Border Service, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was launched on October 22.
