State Migration Service achieves successful results in regulation and management of migration processes in the country
March 19 was the 7th anniversary of establishment of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In this regard Service management and employees of migration bodies visited the grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Honorary Alley and expressed respect to his memory
The grave of prominent ophthalmologist scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was visited, as well.
Later on unforgettable memories of Motherland's sons and daughters perished for independence and territorial integrity were commemorated in the Martyr's Avenue. Fresh carnations were placed on their graves. A wreath was laid in front of the "Eternal Torch".
Later on solemn ceremony dedicated to the establishment anniversary of the State Migration Service was held. At first National Anthem was played. At the ceremony Chief of the State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor Firudin Nabiyev made a broad report on the establishment, development and present condition of the entity. He recalled that March 19 is celebrated as professional holiday of migration bodies’ employees according to the Decree signed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on March 17, 2010. He outlined successful fulfillment of tasks by State Migration Service within its competences and its constructive activity with tireless efforts in order to prove trust given to it. There was a talk about work done by the Service in the field of provision of steady socio-economic, demographic development, use of intellectual and labour potentials of migrants, avoidance of negative influence of unregulated migration processes, prevention of illegal migration. It was mentioned that special attention has been paid to the urgency of migration problems as one of the strategic goals of national security of Azerbaijan, practical activities has been done for the protection of internal labour market.
National migration legislation based on global best practice has been improved; Migration Code has come into the force. It was mentioned that temporary stay, residence, permanent residence of foreigners and stateless persons, as well as granting work permits for paid labor activity and extension of periods has been facilitated. Today both activity of employees and conditions created for the service to foreigners and stateless persons, established infrastructure is one more example of special attention of state to this field. Administrative buildings fitting with modern standards has been built for every 8 Regional Migration Departments of the Service, building of some of them are to over. Baku and Yevlakh Detention Centers of Illegal Migrants fully complying with international standards function according to the today's requirements. Service Chief stated that every employee of migration bodies vigilantly stands on guard of national interests. State Migration Service is a law guarantee for foreigners and stateless persons legalizing their stay in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan is their hope place. We can proudly say that entity has got serious success during the last period on sphere of fight against illegal migration. Rendered services have always been overestimated by the country leader. At the ceremony decrees signed by Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on awarding 13 employees of SMS with the medals "For distinction in serving at migration bodies" and conferral of high special rank - III rank state migration service counselor to Fazil Alekberov, Chief of the State Migration Service of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic were announced.
Later on pre-term, consecutive and out-of-turn special ranks were conferred on 35 employees; also 33 employees were awarded with the certificate of merit by Service Chief. Decree on promotion at service of 2 employees was read and gratitude on 39 persons was announced. It was mentioned that attention and care of the country leader to migration field is always met by service employees with deep gratitude and inspiration. Deep belief was expressed that the exemplary service of highly specialist and morally, physically trained staff potential it will not be hard to achieve tasks put forward.
