Public awareness and enlightenment activities on migration are being continued successfully on the eve of the 7th establishment anniversary of the State Migration Service

According to the calendar of activities approved by the Service chief meetings of foreigners, students, public representatives with the service employees were organized in the Regional Migration Departments and different regions of the Republic, institutes of higher education on the eve of the 7th establishment anniversary of the State Migration Service and professional holiday of migration bodies' employees. Meetings held by the chiefs of departments and head departments, as well as Regional Migration Departments of the Service in order to inform and enlighten the public on innovations in migration field in the last period were welcomed in Yevlakh, Aghsu, Khachmaz, Saatli, Lankaran regions. Broad information on migration legislation, rights and obligations of migration process participants was given in the meetings attended by representatives of regional executive authorities, local municipalities, entrepreneurs, employers and foreigners. Explanation of the articles of Migration Code, requirements of legislation and changes on normative-legal acts were discussed. Opinion exchange about the reasons of migration processes, interest of foreigners to our country was carried out in the meetings as well. Issuance of permits for temporary stay and residence, permanent residence, as well as work permits in the territory of the country and procedures for extension of their periods, liability for violation of legislation was brought to attention. Rights and obligations of foreign students were discussed in workshops and lectures held at institutes of higher education – Baku State University, Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, Azerbaijan State Medical University, Baku Slavic University, “Qafqaz” University, Ganja and Sumgayit State Universities – along with the regions of Azerbaijan. Discussions were held on documentation procedures carried out by relevant structural units of universities and colleges related to issuance of temporary residence permits in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan for foreigners receiving full-time education at the universities and professional schools. Attention was drawn to the importance of respectful attitude by everyone – both a foreigner and a citizen – to the Constitution and laws, traditions and customs of Azerbaijan people. The questions which interested participants, as well as required clarification were responded.
