Meeting on fourth component within Twinning project

On November 18-22, 2013 meeting on fourth component on “Evaluation: comparison of communication landscape” was held at Baku city Regional Migration Department of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the Twinning project called “Support to the professional development of the staff of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.

Senior officials and employees of a number of departments of the State Migration Service, as well as experts invited from Immigration and Naturalization Service and Repatriation and Departure Service of the Kingdom of the Netherlands participated in the meeting.

Making the opening remarks the project leaders spoke about significance of Twinning project and its further contribution to the professional development of the Service employees.

Later on presentation on structure, objectives, work plan and activity of Public Relations Department of the State Migration Service was demonstrated, as well as opinion exchange was carried out on establishing public relations by using more advanced methods, capacity building on information and awareness campaigns.

It should be noted that the main partner of State Migration Service in this project covering 2013-2015 is the Netherlands and the other partner countries are Latvia and Romania.

In general, in the framework of the project workshops and trainings are further planned on 4 directions – migration legislation, fight against illegal migration, development of training methods for professional development of employees of State Migration Service and increasing public awareness on migration issues.
