Chief of the State Migration Service Firudin Nabiyev received Ambassador of USA in our country Richard Morningstar

Chief of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, III rank state migration service counselor Firudin Nabiyev received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America and delegation headed by him on August 5, 2013.

Sincerely greeting the guests F. Nabiyev gave information on the establishment history, structure and activity directions of the State Migration Service, talked about improvement of migration legislation in compliance with international norms and requirements of modern age, measures of combating illegal migration in the territory of the country. Moreover, detailed information on adoption of the Migration Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan and new rules applied in migration field was given to the guests.

Service chief stated that the State Migration Service cooperates with international organizations like United Nations Organization, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, International Organization for Migration, International Labour Organization and European Union.

Expressing his gratitude to Service chief for warm welcome Ambassador R. Morningstar dealt with development of Azerbaijan economy, as well as positively appreciated reopening of Migration division of Baku Regional Migration Department at International Airport named after Heydar Aliyev and improvement of Azerbaijan’s status to Tier 2 in US report on Trafficking in persons as a result of measures conducted in this sphere.

The Ambassador spoke about development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and United States of America and expressed his assurance over successful development of this cooperation in the future. R. Morningstar told that strong and developing Azerbaijan will always be a friend and partner of USA and mentioned that he will do his best to further expand the relations during his diplomatic activity in our country.

At the meeting opinion exchange on migration sphere was conducted, perspectives of cooperation towards fight against illegal migration in the future were discussed.    

At the end the guest got acquainted with Heydar Aliyev Museum of the Service, watched photos reflecting life and activity of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and wrote his impressions on Memory Book.
