2nd leadership meeting in the framework of Twinning project was held at State Migration Service

2nd leadership meeting of Twinning project called “Support to the professional development of the staff of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan” was held at the State Migration Service on July 12, 2013.

Representatives of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Romania and Latvia which are partner countries of the project from European Union, project leader from beneficiary country, coordinator of the project, component leaders, as well as employees of EU Representation, employees of the project office for application of Twinning, TAIEX and SIGMA operations and Program Management Office established within the Ministry of Economic Development participated in the meeting.

At the meeting discussions were held on analysis of activities implemented in the framework of the project during the last 3 months, attained results and achievements, analysis of report on second quarter and activities that will be organized in the next quarter.

Next leadership meeting is planned to be held in October, 2013.

It should be noted that the main partner of the State Migration Service in this project covering 2013-2015 is the Netherlands and the other partner countries are Latvia and Romania.

In general, seminars on migration legislation, fight against illegal migration, improving training methods for professional development of the employees of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and increasing public awareness on migration problems, as well as organization of study visits to EU countries are planned in the framework of the project.
