Next workshop was successfully completed within the framework of Twinning project at the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan
On May 14-16, 2013 next workshop on “Best practice of EU Member States in the implementation of EU legislation and policy on regular migration issues, particularly labour migration and presentation of gap analysis report to the interested parties” was organized for the employees of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the participation of experts invited from Citizenship and Migration Issues of Latvia and Immigration and Passport Department of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. European Union legislation and policy on regular migration and labour migration, as well as issues on implementing provisions of European Union law by EU Member States and on forming migration policy on legal labour migration were discussed, mutual exchange of experience was carried out.
The workshop was held within the framework of Twinning project called “Support to the professional development of the staff of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan” financed by European Union’s Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument. The main partner of State Migration Service in this project covering 2013-2015 is the Netherlands and the other partner countries are Latvia and Romania.
In general, seminars on 4 directions - migration legislation, fight against illegal migration, improving training methods for professional development of the employees of the State Migration Service and increasing public awareness on migration problems will be held within the framework of the project. Moreover, study visits to EU countries and meetings are also planned.
