Chief of the State Migration Service received Ambassador of Georgia in our country

Chief of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, III rank state migration service counselor Firudin Nabiyev received Teymuraz Sharashenidze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia in our country on June 21, 2013.  

Sincerely greeting the guest Service chief Mr. Firudin Nabiyev gave detailed information on implementation of state policy in migration field, establishment of the State Migration Service, its functioning, defined goals and work done in a short period of time, as well as achieved results. Service chief spoke about enhancement of migration management mechanism, adoption of country’s Migration Code and stated that significant measures are being taken to facilitate procedures of issuing relevant permissions for legal residence and labour activity in the territory of the country to foreigners and stateless persons and their registration upon place of residence.      

Expressing his gratitude for warm reception Ambassador T. Sharashenidze stated that political, economic and cultural relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia are at high level. The Ambassador highly appreciated new rules applied for registration upon place of stay and stated that it was a great contribution for convenience of foreigners arriving in Azerbaijan. The Ambassador emphasized necessity of developing cooperation between relevant authorities of the two countries.  

At the meeting efficient opinion exchange was carried out on mutual cooperation between the parties and issues of interest in migration field.
