Next activity in the frame of Twinning project was held at State Migration Service

On February 25-28 of the current year, meeting was held with participation of experts invited from General Inspectorates for Immigration of the Republic of Romania and Immigration and Passport Department of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and employees of Migration Control Head Department and Analysis of Migration Processes and Information Support Head Department of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the meeting issues on technical structure and data base of the Unified Migration Information System installed at the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and study of best practice of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Republic of Romania in this field were discussed.

The meeting was held within the framework of Twinning project called “Support to the professional development of the staff of the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan” financed by European Union. The main partner of State Migration Service in this project covering 2013-2015 is the Netherlands and the other partner countries are Latvia and Romania.

In general, seminars, study visits to EU countries and meetings on 4 directions - migration legislation, fight against illegal migration, improving training methods for professional development of the employees of State Migration Service and increasing public awareness on migration problems are planned within the framework of the project.
