Existence of visa-free traveling regime between Azerbaijan and several countries caused an increase in the number of foreigners using our republic as transit country or coming for a short period, trying to go to the third countries, or to live without legal bases. All these have created objective necessity to carry out migration policy in accordance with national interests to improve and develop migration processes regulation, to coordinate the activity of state entities, as well as international cooperation in this field for development of country and provision of its security. Taking into consideration all these realities President Ilham Aliyev provided complex measures in the sphere of migration processes regulation with unified state policy.

During these years our relations have developed rapidly and as a result of this, new perspectives of bilateral cooperation have emerged. The Service chief specially emphasized that efficient cooperation between SMS and IOM will be further developed.
