Joint seminar with United Nations High Commission held at the State Migration Service

On April 20, 2011 a joint seminar on “Collecting information about countries of origin” was held at the State Migration Service (SMS) of Azerbaijan Republic with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).

Judges of different instance courts, employees of the Service, representatives of Ministries of Interior, National Security, Service and Independent Scientific Practical Law Center (ISPLC) participated at the seminar.

Opening the event Deputy chief of the Service, III rank state migration service counselor Parviz Musayev emphasized urgency of the topic, spoke about necessity of information about countries of origin in making decisions, investigating applications of asylum seekers, development of asylum system in Azerbaijan as a destination country, tolerant behavior shown to persons under protection of UNHCR.                                                                                                     

Representative of UNHCR in Azerbaijan Mr. Arun Sala-Nqarm notified his appreciation to the administration of Service for support and constant cooperation demonstrated in organization of the seminar.
