Chief of the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan Republic Arzu Rahimov has been on an official visit to the Republic of Turkey

On February 21-25 of the current year the delegation headed  by chief of the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan Republic, II rank state migration service counselor Arzu Rahimov, was on an official visit to the Republic of Turkey to improve bilaterial cooperation in the sphere of migration between relevant authorities of this country and the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan Republic.

As a sign of respect to the beloved memory of  Great Leader Heydar Aliyev the delegation visited his memorials in the central squares of Ankara and Istanbul, placed fresh flowers onto the memorials.

Within the visit Service chief met Mr. Mustafa Kabakchi, a member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, leader of Turkey-Azerbaijan interparlamentary Friendship Group, Mr. Beshir Atalay, Minister of Interior Affairs, Mr. Oghuz Kaan Koksal, Chief of the Turkish National Police, Mr. Omer Dincher, Minister of the Labour and Social Protection.

During the meeting the parties talked about interstate relations, number one problem of Azerbaijan – Nagorny Karabakh conflict, current visa regime between Azerbaijan and Turkey, inprovement of legislation in the sphere of migration, migrant flow to the Republic of Azerbaijan, and also cooperation relations between the brother countries. In the course of the meeting Service chief Mr. Arzu Rahimov talked about the establishment history of the State Migration Service, its activities, the role of the application of the “Single Window” principle  in the implementation of state control in the migration sphere.

Recalling Great Leader Heydar Aliyev’s words “One nation, two states” Minister of Interior of Turkey Republic, Mr. Beshir Atalay emphasized that efforts will be continued to improve relations between the brother countries at higher level.


Within the visit, members of the Azerbaijan delegation meet with chief of the Department of Foreign Issues under the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Yahya Bilgich and other competent representatives, also visited Detention Center for Illegal Migrants.
