Official statistics of the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan Republic for February 2011

State Migration Service of Azerbaijan Republic has taken continual measures in the direction of organizing national security of Azerbaijan Republic, strengthening state control over migration processes, as well as, regulating migration processes and relevant results have been achieved in February 2011.

In February 2011 State Migration Service accepted 3.584 applications from foreigners and stateless persons related with extension of temporary staying period in the country, granting temporary and permanent residence permissions, determination of refugee status acceptance, revocation, restoration and determination of citizenship, as well as granting work permits for carrying out labor activity and extension of their terms.

Each application has been considered in compliance with the requirements of available legislation and relevant decisions have been adopted.

State Migration Service employees have taken proper measures for the purpose of preventing illegal migration, as well as violation of rules on stay, temporary and permanent reside by foreigners and stateless persons in Azerbaijan Republic. As a result of taken measures cases concerning infringement of current legislative requirements by 532 foreigners were revealed. 123 of them were fined and their residence in the country was legalized. Decisions were adopted about 338 foreigners on leaving the territory of the country within 48 hours in compliance with the relevant Articles of the Code of Administrative Offences and about 71 foreigners on expulsion out of the country in administrative order. Because of not filling age of 16, 26 foreigners have not been drawn into amenability.   

Measures on strengthening state control over migration sphere are being continued.
