OSCE delegation in State Migration Service
In Azerbaijan Republic State Migration Service a meeting was held with Senior Adviser on Anti-Trafficking Issues of OSCE/ODIHR Ms. Shivaun Scanlan who was in the country with the short-term visit and Deputy Head of Baku OSCE Office Ms. Melissa L. Stone on 29th April 2010.
During the meeting detailed information on State Migration Service history, activity, assigned tasks, work done in short period and achievements gained was given to the guests. Issue of “single window” system been applied since 1st July 2009 in order to improve migration mechanism and simplification of issuing relevant permissions to reside and work on legal grounds procedures was also raised. Attachment of great importance of learning international experience and sending Service employees to European countries on business trips with this purpose was also brought to guests’ notice.
At the meeting the detailed information on “National Anti-Trafficking Action Plan (2009-2013)” approved by the presidential order dated 6th February 2009, Measures Plan developed for its implementation and tasks of the State Migration Service in anti-trafficking process was provided.
Thankful for sincere reception Ms. Stone expressed her appreciation for given information, highly valued work done by the Service in three years period and noted that OSCE Baku Office is always ready for any support.
Opinion exchange on a number of interested issues was held at the meeting passed in mutual understanding condition.
