Chief of the State Migration Service met with representatives of the International Organization for Migration

Vusal Huseynov, Chief of the State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor, has met with the delegation led by Mohammed Abdiker, Chief of Staff of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), who is on a visit to our country. The meeting was also attended by Artur Erken, IOM Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Lars Johan Lönnbak, Head of the IOM Office in Georgia and of the country office with regional coordination functions, as well as Anar Iskenderov, responsible officer of the IOM Azerbaijan Office.

Welcoming the guests, the Chief of the Service emphasized the fruitful cooperation established between the IOM and the State Migration Service and provided information on the projects implemented by the Service in the past period aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of migration management and introducing innovative approaches, in particular the High-Skilled Migrant Portal. Vusal Huseynov also highlighted the importance of our country’s participation in the second International Migration Review Forum and panel discussions jointly organized with IOM within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum

Expressing his gratitude for the cordial reception, Mohammed Abdiker, Chief of Staff of the IOM, underlined the importance of joint cooperation in the field of migration and noted the significance of continuing mutual efforts to further develop the existing relations in the future.

At the end of the meeting, an exchange of opinions was carried out the results achieved within the framework of the current cooperation, other issues of mutual interest, and future directions of collaboration.
