Commemorative events related with the Khojaly genocide was organized by the State Migration Service

On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy, on February 26, management and staff of the State Migration Service visited the monument "Ana Harayi" (“Mother’s Cry”) erected in memory of the victims of the tragedy.

The memory of the residents of Khojaly, who were brutally murdered in a massacre that are one of the most tragic chapters of Azerbaijan’s history, were commemorated with respect, and flowers were laid in front of the monument.

A commemorative event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was organized at the State Migration Service, as well.

First, the "Zəfər Guşəsi" (“Corner of Victory”) in the apparatus of the State Migration Service, symbolizing our Army's historic victory in the Patriotic War was visited, carnations were arranged in front of it.

In the ceremony continued at the Service's conference hall, the National Anthem was performed. The dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the heroic sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and liberation of our lands, as well as the victims of the Khojaly genocide were commemorated with a minute of silence.

At the event, Deputy Chief of the State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor Elman Aliyev spoke about the grave crimes committed by armenians against the people of Azerbaijan throughout history, with particular emphasis on the Khojaly genocide — one of the bloodiest tragedies of the 20th century — and the ruthless massacres carried out against peaceful civilians.

It was noted that territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country was fully restored with the historical Victory under the leadership of the Victorious Commander-in-Chief and significant steps have been taken towards the restoration of justice. Today, our tricolor flag proudly waving in Khojaly symbolizes the triumph of truth and justice, demonstrates that the memory of the victims of the tragedy is eternally honored.

At the end of the event, a film about the Khojaly tragedy was demonstrated.

In addition, employees of the regional migration departments paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide within the framework of commemorative events organized by the local community.
