Next Multi-stakeholder Consultations on the “Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration”
On February 13, the State Migration Service hosted next multi-stakeholder consultations on “Implementation of the “Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration” (GCM) in Azerbaijan and Future Priorities”. The event was jointly organized by the State Migration Service, the International Organization for Migration, and the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan.
The consultations, based on the “whole-of-society principle”, one of the guiding GCM principles, brought together representatives of civil society organizations operating in the field of migration.
The interactive discussions focused on the objectives and principles of the GCM, Azerbaijan’s achievements in its execution, the contributions and proposals of non-governmental organizations in implementation of the Compact, as well as priorities ahead of the upcoming Forum.
It should be noted that the event was organized in the framework of preparatory activities to the second International Migration Review Forum, scheduled to take place on May 5-8 of this year.
