Chief of the State Migration Service met with the Chief of Mission for the International Organization for Migration in Georgia

Vusal Huseynov, Chief of the State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor, has met with Lars Johan Lönnback, Chief of Mission for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Georgia and Country Office with Coordinating Functions in the region, as well as Troy Dooley, the Head of the IOM Representation in Azerbaijan.

Warmly welcoming the guests, Vusal Huseynov provided information about the role of the implemented joint projects in expanding relations.

The Chief of the Service recalled our country’s hosting of the Ministerial Conference of the Almaty Process last month and expressed his satisfaction with the support provided by the IOM as the Secretariat of the Process in organizing the Conference. Vusal Huseynov expressed his hope that cooperation will be further developed and best practices in global migration management will be promoted.

Expressing gratitude for the cordial meeting, the Head of the IOM Representative Office in Georgia, Lars Johan Lönnback, conveyed his congratulations on successful organization of the Ministerial Conference within the framework of the Almaty Process and expressed confidence that the joint projects implemented in the field of migration will contribute to the expansion of cooperation.

During the meeting, discussions were also held on other issues of mutual interest.
