The staff of the State Migration Service visited the Khojaly genocide monument

On the occasion of the 33th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy, on February 26, officials and staff of the Service visited the monument "Ana Harayi" erected in memory of the victims of the tragedy.

The memory of the residents of Khojaly, who were brutally murdered by Armenian vandals in a massacre that went down in history as the bloodiest tragedies of the 20th century, were commemorated with respect, and flowers were laid in front of the monument.

As well, an event dedicated to the 33th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was organized at the State Migration Service.

First, the "Victory Corner" in the apparatus of the State Migration Service, symbolizing our Army's historic victory in the Patriotic War was visited carnations were arranged in front of it.

In the ceremony held in the Service's conference hall, the National Anthem was performed. The dear memories of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and those who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and rose to the peak of martyrdom were commemorated with a minute of silence.

At the event, Deputy Chief of the State Migration Service, II rank state migration service counselor Elman Aliyev spoke about the history of the genocide committed against civilians by Armenian executioners on the night of February 25-26, 1992. He stated that as a result of the attack of Armenian armed groups on the unarmed and helpless residents of Khojaly by the 366th motorized rifle regiment of the former USSR stationed in the city of Khankendi, 613 residents of Khojaly were killed, including 63 children, 106 women, and 70 elderly people, 8 families were completely destroyed, 25 children lost both parents, and 130 children lost one of their parents.

It was noted that as a result of the counter-terrorism measures of our brave army under the leadership of the Victorious Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the sovereignty of our state was fully restored, Khojaly region was cleared of separatists. Today, our tricolor flag proudly waving in Khojaly symbolizes the triumph of truth and justice, and that the blood of the victims of the genocide has not been left on the ground.

At the end of the event, a film about the Khojaly tragedy was demonstrated.
