Online meeting held between the Chief of the State Migration Service and the head of the Representaion of International Organization for Migration in Azerbaijan

Chief of the State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor Vusal Huseynov and Head of the Representation of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the Republic of Azerbaijan Vladimir Gjorgjiev held an online meeting within the frame of the project on "Supporting the establishment of a regional training center on migration in Azerbaijan".

First, Vusal Huseynov said that the victory of the Azerbaijani Army in the Patriotic War was engraved in the history with golden letters as a chronicle of honor of our people. Asking God to have mercy on our martyrs, Chief of the Service said that today is a day of remembrance for our servicemen who rose to the peak of martyrdom for a holy cause, and the memory of our martyrs will live forever in our hearts.

Chief of the Service noted that the project on "Supporting the establishment of a regional training center on migration in Azerbaijan" will make an important contribution to the further development of cooperation between the State Migration Service and the IOM Office in Azerbaijan. He said the project would be an effective platform for strengthening education and training opportunities in the field of migration within the region and beryond, and appreciated the IOM's support in establishing a Regional Training Center on Migration in Azerbaijan.

He noted that within the framework of effective cooperation between the State Migration Service and the IOM, the work done in Azerbaijan in recent years to protect the rights of migrants, improve migration management and increase institutional capacity indicates the highest level of cooperation between the two institutions.

Expressing appreciation for the meeting, the Head of the Representation of International Organization for Migration in Azerbaijan Vladimir Gjorgjiev and members of the organization expressed respect for the souls of our martyrs. Then V. Gjorgjiev shared his views on the project. He said the project will make an important contribution to the development of relations between the two institutions and the expansion of cooperation between the countries of the region in the field of migration.

During the meeting exchange of views on the project and other issues of mutual interest related to migration took place.
