Key aspects of the integration of foreigners into local society discussed
A public discussion on "Key aspects of the integration of foreigners into society" has been organized by the Public Council under the State Migration Service and the "Support to the Development of Tourism and National Cuisine" Public Union. The event was held within the "Provision of legal assistance to foreigners remaining in the country during the pandemic" Project implemented with the financial support of the Council on State Support to NGOs under the auspices of the President.
Mentioning various aspects of the integration of foreigners into local society, the chairman of the Public Council under the State Migration Service, PhD in social philosophy Azar Allahveranov stated that the effectiveness of the policy on the integration of foreigners depends on government bodies and civil society institutions directly involved in this process. Thus, establishment of improved cooperation, wide and comprehensive activities carried out in coordinated manner by the stakeholders represented in this area, active involvement of target groups in this process, etc. are important factors.
Deputy Chief of Migration policy and legal support head department of the State Migration Service, Kayan Hajiyev drew attention to migration legislation. He mentioned that measures to integrate foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing in our country into local conditions are carried out at their own request. At present, steps are being taken in this direction.
Kamala Mammadova, founder of the "Support to the Development of Tourism and National Cuisine" Public Union and project manager spoke about the specific aspects of the applications made by migrants to the project implementation team.
Speakers also shared the experience of neighboring countries. In the end, it was concluded that the effective integration of foreigners into society requires the implementation of a set of measures in the socio-economic, political-legal, socio-cultural and socio-psychological spheres.
