Cooperation between State Migration Service and International Centre for Migration Policy Development discussed
Chief of the State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor Vusal Huseynov has held a video meeting with the delegation led by the Regional Portfolio Manager of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) Violeta Wagner.
During the meeting, where the current state of cooperation between the State Migration Service (SMS) and the ICMPD was discussed, Vusal Huseynov shared his views on ongoing and future projects in partnership with the ICMPD. The Service Chief expressed his satisfaction of the successful implementation of the “Reintegration Support to the Azerbaijani Returnees (RESTART)” project aimed at ensuring effective reintegration of our citizens to the society. In addition, as a continuation of the "Support to the Implementation of the Mobility Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Union (MOBILAZE)" Project implemented with the support of the ICMPD, he also stressed the importance of the "Enhancing Technical and Institutional Capacities on Migration and Border Management (ETIMAD)" Project, developed and planned to be implemented in accordance with existing priorities in the field of migration management.
Vusal Huseynov, who drew attention to the challenges facing the world and the limitations that people face in their daily lives posed by the new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) said that from the first days of the pandemic, the e-services provided by the State Migration Service to foreigners and stateless persons were adapted to the existing needs and all services were implemented and optimized electronically.
Violeta Wagner, ICMPD Regional Portfolio Manager, thanked the Chief of the Service for taking the time to meet and for his support in establishing effective cooperation, as well as provided updated information on the status of implementation of current and future projects.
At the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
