Pressing issues on labor migration discussed

Public discussion on the “Novelties in the field of labor migration legislation and pressing issues in this context” has been organized by the of “Labor migration” Working Group of the Public Council under the State Migration Service (SMS) and with the initiative of the “Y-Lex Consulting Company” LLC at the conference hall of the Baku Regional Migration Department of the SMS. In his opening speech Chairman of the Public Council under the SMS Azar Allahveranov touched upon labor migration phenomenon which is under the spotlight during recent years, as well as gave information on activities implemented by various Working Groups of the institution represented by him. Head of the Working Group on “Labor migration” of the Public Council under SMS and director of the “Y-Lex Consulting Company” LLC Kamala Mammadova talked about applications received from foreigners regarding the migration legislation and touched upon issues characterized with particular importance in this field. Talking about recent amendments made to the migration legislation senior inspector of the Migration Policy and Emigration Department under the Migration Policy and Legal Support Head Department, I rank migration service employee Emin Allahverdiyev noted that improvement of legislation is always on the spotlight and due to this, any rational proposal with regard to migration legislation is accordingly reviewed.

At the event held in a public discussion format, foreign students and local entrepreneurs talked about difficulties faced by them regarding labor activity of foreigners, during the application for registration upon place of stay, as well as obtaining temporary residence permit.  Each question of the participants were answered by the employees of SMS.
