Chief of the State Migration Service attends the session of the International Anti-Corruption Academy in Nur-Sultan
The 8th Session of the Assembly of Parties of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA), as well as the next meeting of the Board of Governors of the Academy are held in Nur-Sultan, the Republic of Kazakhstan on October 02-04. In the meeting of the Board of Governors, where general policy of the organization, as well as other issues of mutual interest were discussed, Chief of the State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor Vusal Huseynov participated as member of the Board of Governors. Issues on future development of the organization were discussed, as well as exchange of views regarding election of the Dean of the International Anti-Corruption Academy was conducted at the meeting.
After the meeting of the Board of Governors of IACA, the 8th Session of the Assembly of Parties of the organization started its work. The delegation headed by Chief of the State Migration Service Vusal Huseynov and consisting of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Rashad Mammadov, Secretary of the Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Combating Corruption Kamal Jafarov, Chief of the Department on Administration and Information Support under Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabuhi Aliyev represents the Republic of Azerbaijan at the Session.
Making a speech at the high-level segment of the mentioned session, head of Azerbaijani delegation Vusal Huseynov gave detailed information on reforms and state programs carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in the country. V.Huseynov mentioned that cooperation with international organizations in the field of fight against corruption is one of the priority directions in Azerbaijan, strong anti-corruption legislation has been formed taking into account international practice, significant institutional measures and reforms are regularly carried out on fight against corruption. Furthermore, the Service chief gave information on the directions of current cooperation between Azerbaijan and IACA.
V.Huseynov brought to the attention of participants that the event is a good opportunity to promote cooperation among participating states, to review activity of the agency since the last session, as well as to discuss its role and perspectives in global anti-corruption activity.
Participating in the press conference held after the session, Secretary of the Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Combating Corruption Kamal Jafarov spoke about work carried out in the field of fight against corruption in our country, as well as positive impact of the principle of the "one-stop shop" on reduction of the risk of corruption, applied in the provision of public services.
In the framework of the visit, Azerbaijani delegation held a number of bilateral meetings, including the meeting with the Chairman of the Anti-corruption Agency of Kazakhstan Alik Shpekbayev, exchange of views was carried out on perspectives of mutual cooperation in the field of fight against corruption at the meetings.
It should be mentioned that more than 500 delegates representing 74 member states, observer states, international and non-governmental organizations are participating in the event.
