Statistics of the State Migration Service for July 2019

105.032 applications for registration upon place of stay of foreigners and stateless persons were registered by the State Migration Service (SMS) during July 2019.

During the month, SMS received 8.249 applications from foreigners and stateless persons on extension of temporary staying period, issuance of temporary and permanent residence permits, acquisition, restoration and revocation of citizenship, establishment of citizenship and determination of refugee status, as well as issuance of work permits for carrying out labor activity and extension of the validity of existing work permits. Each application was investigated individually in accordance with the requirements of the Azerbaijani legislation and relevant decisions were made.

During July, as a result of the measures and investigations carried out in the territory of the country 1.425 decisions were made by SMS for violation of the requirements of migration, as well as administrative legislation by foreigners and stateless persons.

798 decisions were on imposition of the penalty without administrative expulsion from the territory of the country for infringement of the requirements of relevant Articles of the Administrative Offences Code, including 548 decisions on leaving the country and 250 decisions on legalization of residence within the territory of the country.

Out of 569 decisions on travel ban to the country 75 decisions were on imposition of penalty with administrative expulsion from the territory of the country for infringement of the requirements of relevant Articles of the Administrative Offences Code and 494 decisions on violating requirements of the relevant Articles of the Migration Code.

39 decisions were made on loss of permission cards for temporary and permanent residence, 5 decisions on failing to take measures for timely registration and deregistration of foreigners and stateless persons upon place of stay, in a way envisaged by the Migration Code, by citizens of Azerbaijan or foreigners or stateless persons residing in Azerbaijan who provide residential area to them. 12 decisions were made on violation of recruitment rules of foreigners and stateless persons, 2 decisions on violating the requirements of other provisions of the legislation.

Measures are continued by SMS for enhancement of the state control over migration processes in the country, as well as prevention of illegal migration.
