A chess competition organized among Migration Volunteers
On the occasion of International Chess Day, blitz chess competition was held among the "Migration Volunteers".
The tournament was jointly organized by the State Migration Service, the Chess Academy named after Vugar Hashimov and the "Migration Volunteer" Public Union.
Firstly, President of the Academy Gasim Hashimov informed the participants of the competition about the sporting career and bright victories of the prominent Azerbaijani chess player and international grandmaster Vugar Hashimov. Afterwards, the teacher of the Academy, honored coach Anar Allahverdiyev gave a master class on chess.
24 volunteers competed in the 5 rounds competition by circular system. The winner of the tournament was an active young Elchin Osmanov. Migration volunteers Vusal Ismayilov and Museyib Shiraliyev took the 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.
The winner and other participants were awarded with the diplomas and valuable prizes.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the “Migration Volunteer” Public Union and the Chess Academy named after Vugar Hashimov within the framework of the tournament.
