Statistics of the State Migration Service for the first half of 2019

303.621 applications for registration upon place of stay of foreigners and stateless persons were registered by the State Migration Service (SMS) during the first half of 2019.

During the first half of the year, SMS received 36.712 applications from foreigners and stateless persons on extension of temporary staying period, issuance of temporary and permanent residence permissions, adoption, restoration and revocation of citizenship, establishment of citizenship and determination of refugee status, as well as issuance of work permits for carrying out labor activity and extension of the validity of existing work permits. Each application was investigated individually in accordance with the legislation of Azerbaijan and relevant decisions were made.

During the first half of the year, as a result of the measures and investigations carried out on the territory of the country 6.327 decisions were made by SMS for violation of migration, as well as administrative legislation by foreigners and stateless persons.

3.543 decisions were on imposition of the penalty without administrative expulsion from the territory of the country for infringement of the requirements of relevant Articles of the Administrative Offences Code, including 2.337 decisions on leaving the country and 1.206 decisions on legalization of residence within the territory of the country.

Out of 2.535 decisions on restriction of entry to the country 533 decisions were on imposition of penalty with administrative expulsion from the territory of the country for infringement of the requirements of relevant Articles of the Administrative Offences Code and 1.982 decisions on violating requirements of the relevant Articles of the Migration Code.

124 decisions were made on loss of permission documents for temporary and permanent residence, 77 decisions on failing to take measures for timely registration and deregistration of foreigners and stateless persons upon place of stay, in a way envisaged by the Migration Code, by citizens of Azerbaijan or foreigners and stateless persons residing in Azerbaijan who provide residential area to them. 43 decisions were made on violation of recruitment rules for foreigners and stateless persons, 5 decisions on violating employment of other Articles of the legislation.

Measures are continued by SMS in order to strengthen the state control over migration processes in our country, as well as the prevention of illegal migration.
