Sport competition organized within “Step with refugees” campaign

The State Migration Service organized a footrace to support “Step with refugees” global campaign. Representation of UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Azerbaijan closely valued in the organization of the event.

The aim of the run held with participation of representatives of the State Migration Service, State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, UNCHR Representation in Azerbaijan, International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), as well as Migration voulenteers was to support “Step with refugees” global campaign, increase attention on current problems of refugees and IDPs in the world, as well as bring people together in good deeds by promoting a healthy lifestyle.

About 60 participants attended the contest organized in the framework of “Step with refugees” campaign. The participants overcame a distance of 4 km along White City Boulevard.

Elmar Mursalov won among men. Tunjay Shamil finished second. Elfan Guliyev took 3rd place. Elnara Ismayilova showed the best performance among women. Aydan Seyidova came second. Fidan Galandarova got 3rd place.

The winners were awarded with diplomas and cash prizes.
