Vusal Huseynov: “Azerbaijan is an active member of global initiatives and has implemented many different activities”.

These ideas were told by the chief of State Migration Service, III rank state migration service counselor Vusal Huseynov in the seminar held under the topic “Ensuring the integrated approach in the public sector” within UN Public Service Forum.

UN Public Service Forum with the joint organization of United Nations and State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was launched on June 24 in Heydar Aliyev Center.

First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, UN under Secretary General Mr. Liu Zhenmin, as well as the ministers of the different countries responsible for public administration and public services, high level representatives of the local authorities, academic structures and private sector have participated in the opening ceremony of the Forum with the representation of more than 500 representatives from more than 190 countries of the world.

The plenary sessions, seminar on 9 different topics and 4 parallel events have been organized within the Forum which is the first UN event held in our country in the field of delivering public services.

Making the speech in the framework of aforementioned Forum, the Chief of the State Migration Service Vusal Huseynov informed the participants about the work done by the Government of Azerbaijan for the application of the integrated approach in terms of UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as key challenges and achievements in this direction. He underlined that Azerbaijan managed to reduce poverty in the country from 50% to 5% between 2001 and 2015 year.

Vusal Huseynov also exchanged his opinions about innovative public administration and public services, as well as initiatives and means which could impact to the future activities. The chief of the Service, while talking about “ASAN Service” model in the coordinated application of the public services mentioned that this system would contribute to increasing the transparency in the relations with the different state bodies.

It should be mentioned that the Forum will end on June 26, 2019.
