Oath ceremony held for persons who acquired citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan

On December 25, 2018, for the purpose of the implementation of the Order signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the acquisition and restoration of citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan of 241 persons, a solemn oath ceremony of those persons was held at the State Migration Service (SMS).  

The chief of the State Migration Service Vusal Huseynov congratulated the participants of the event, who were living one of the most unforgettable moments of their lives, on the occasion of receiving the honorable and responsible title such as the citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He noted that becoming a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan which is among the most dynamically developed countries of the world under the leadership of the President Ilham Aliyev, is a great honor and happiness. Dynamic progress of the country in social, economic, political, cultural, in a world, in all spheres in recent years, expansion of tourism opportunities, improvement of business environment, established favorable condition for the development of the entrepreneurship in the country caused the increase in the number of foreigners wishing to visit Azerbaijan for recreation, residence and employment.  

Vusal Huseynov stated that increase is observed in the number of the persons, who want to acquire citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which is considered as a tolerant, multicultural and safe country in all over the world. At the end of his speech, the Service chief congratulated the participants on the occasion of the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year.

Then 233 persons who acquired and 8 persons who restored the citizenship solemnly took an oath of loyalty to the Republic of Azerbaijan by putting their hands on the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan in front of the state flag.

The event finished with the performance of the National Anthem.
