Meeting held between Chief of the State Migration Service Mr. Vusal Huseynov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to our country Mr. Khairullah Spelenai

Chief of the State Migration Service (SMS) Vusal Huseynov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to our country Khairullah Spelenai.

Sincerely welcoming the guest, Chief of the Service stated that economic and political relations between the two states have consolidated in recent years and today’s meeting will contribute to strengthening the cooperation in the field of migration in the future, as well. Vusal Huseynov highlighted that a new draft law in the field of migration was adopted last year in order to ensure convenience of foreigners traveling to our country regarding registration and residence, to increase the attractiveness of the country in terms of tourism and to support development of entrepreneurship.

The Service Chief emphasized the recent increase in the number of the citizens of Afghanistan coming to Azerbaijan and noted that favorable conditions existed in our country for their legal activity.

 Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, the ambassador highly appreciated the growing economic potential of Azerbaijan and expressed confidence that the meeting would make a great contribution to the development of mutual cooperation. Mr. Khairullah Spelenai stated that Afghanistan is interested in strengthening relations with Azerbaijan in all directions, as well as expressed his appreciation for the protection of the rights of the citizens of Afghanistan living in safety in Azerbaijan and opportunities created for them to engage in labor activity in accordance with the requirements of the legislation. Mutual cooperation in the field of migration in the future and other issues were discussed at the meeting.
