Chief of the State Migration Service participates in the 109th Session of the Council of the International Organization for Migration

The delegation headed by the Chief of the State Migration Service, Vusal Huseynov is on an official visit in the Swiss Confederation in order to attend the 109th Session of the Council of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Consideration of the organizational issues in accordance with the agenda of the event, as well as election of the Chairman, Vice-Chairmen and speakers of the Council is expected during the session which will be held at the International Conference Center in Geneva on November 27-30. The new Director General of IOM Antonio Vitorino is expected to deliver a comprehensive report at the session.

High-level panels on "United Nations Network on Migration: an overview”, “Policy coherence for migration health: challenges and opportunities” and “Responding to internal displacement: dialogue with States” covering various aspects of global migration processes is planned within the framework of the session.

The session will finalize its work on November 30.
