The fight against illegal migration discussed at the Astara Pedagogical College

State Migration Service (SMS) held an awareness-raising event on “Prevention of illegal migration” in the Astara Pedagogical College, which is included to the service area of the Lankaran Regional Migration Department.

 During the meeting, attended by around 200 persons including academia, as well as students the participants were informed about the rules of stay and residence of foreigners and stateless persons on the territory of the country, obtaining temporary residence permit on the basis of education, rules of registration upon place of stay, recent amendments to the Migration Code, actions taken by the State Migration Service to eliminate illegal migration, administrative responsibility for violation of the legislation. It was brought to the attention of the participants that the procedures of stay and residence of foreigners and stateless persons in the country, as well as obtaining work permits had been simplified, as well.

It was mentioned that the satisfaction of the applicants and the protection of the domestic labor market will be further kept in the center of attention by the State Migration Service, which exercises the powers of a single state agency on the principle of "one stop shop".

 At the end of the meeting questions of the participants were answered.
