Our State Flag is the source of our pride

An event has been held at the State Migration Service on the occasion of November 9 – the State Flag Day.  

 At first the National anthem was played. Afterwards a video clip dedicated to the State Flag was demonstrated.

Speaking at the event, Chief of the State Migration Service, Vusal Huseynov noted that celebration of 9 November every year as the "State Flag Day" by the Order signed by President Ilham Aliyev on November 17, 2009 is a sign of respect and reverence for the state symbols in our country. He stated that celebration of the flag day, which is an embodiment of statehood traditions with deep roots, our eternal independence and important achievements, as a great holiday in every corner of our country is a great occasion. The Service chief emphasized that it is a duty of honor for each of us to keep our flag up and to wave it proudly. Therefore, today the love for the state flag has become a sense of national concern for every Azerbaijani.

The lecturer of the faculty of history of the Baku State University, historian Karam Mammadov talked about the history of our flag, as well as the glorious and compliacted path that it has undergone. The speaker demonstrated the flags that existed from ancient times to the present day and provided information about them. He stated that ancient flags, which are the most valuable exhibits of our history, provides opportunity for us to study and investigate the history of the states that existed on the territory of Azerbaijan.  

 At the end of the event the scholar answered the questions of the employees of the State Migration Service.
