Azerbaijani delegation headed by the chief of State Migration Service attends the session of International Anti-Corruption Academy in Vienna

The 7th Session of the Assembly of Parties of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) is being held on September 27-28 in Vienna, Austria.  More than 1,000 delegates representing 74 member states, observer states, international and non-governmental organizations are participating in the event.

Head of Azerbaijani delegation, the chief of State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, member of the Board of Governors of the International Anti-Corruption Academy Vusal Huseynov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Austria, Permanent Representative to OSCE and Vienna based UN organizations Galib Israfilov, secretary of the Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Combating Corruption Kamal Jafarov, prosecutor of the Head Department on Combating Corruption under Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabuhi Aliyev, second secretary of the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to OSCE and Vienna based UN organizations Rovshan Safarov participate in the event.

At the event, the organizational and legal issues related to various aspects of the Academy's activities were discussed, the reports on activities carried out by the member states in this field were listened and a number of necessary documents were drafted to enhance the role of the mentioned organization in strengthening the efforts to combat corruption in the global scale.  

The head of Azerbaijani delegation, member of the Board of Governs of the International Anti-Corruption Academy Vusal Huseynov made a speech at the opening ceremony of the event, spoke about the reforms and state programs carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in the country. He noted that Azerbaijan was a venue for large-scale reforms, energy and transport projects of regional significance, stability, multiculturalism and high social welfare. Vusal Huseynov, mentioning that the fight against corruption is a priority of the state policy, talked about advanced anti-corruption legislation of Azerbaijan, systematic activity of specialized bodies in this field and application of Azerbaijani brand “ASAN Service” in several countries.

Secretary of the Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Combating Corruption, graduate of the master program of the International Anti-Corruption Academy Kamal Jafarov also delivered a speech at the 7th Session of the Assembly. He informed the participants about the measures for the prevention of corruption in the country, promotion of open government principles, as well as the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Academy and the significance of the Academy's Master`s program.

In the framework of the visit, bilateral meetings were held between Azerbaijani delegation and the head of IACA Martin Kreutner and other delegations, exchange of views was carried out on perspectives of mutual cooperation in the field of fight against corruption.
