Chief of the State Migration Service met with the senior staff of the International Center for Migration Policy Development

Chief of State Migration Service (SMS), Vusal Huseynov met with the Deputy Director General of the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), which headquarters in Vienna, Gabriela Abado, within the framework of his visit to Austria.

At the meeting, a wide range of issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation were discussed with the ICMPD, the international partner of the SMS. Attention was drawn to the steps taken for further strengthening and development of existing relations, as well as joint projects.

Topics such as migration issues, irregular migration and its consequences, and attitude towards migrants were touched upon.

During the meeting at ICMPD, the Service Chief emphasized the importance of the MOBILAZE project, implemented jointly with the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Trainings, workshops, study visits, meetings on various topics organized during the relevant period and their results were highlighted.

The meeting focused on the opinion exchange about the work carried out for the capacity building on monitoring, analysis and forecasting in the sphere of migration in Azerbaijan. They discussed perspectives of strengthening the management in the area of labor migration, documents security, national asylum policy and sustainable reintegration of returnees.

V.Huseynov spoke about the effective results of the migration policy in our country and recent activities for improving the migration legislation.

The sides exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest at the meeting.
