A meeting with the representative of US Department of State held at State Migration Service
The meeting between Deputy chief of the Service, III rank state migration service counselor Parviz Musayev and foreign affairs officer of the US Department of State's Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons Atsuki Takahashi was held in the administrative building of the State Migration Service.
Discussions were held on the activities implemented by SMS within the framework of the measures carried out against trafficking in persons in Azerbaijan for the purpose of drafting report on human trafficking by the US Department of State.
Deputy Chief of the Service Parviz Musayev gave information about the activities implemented by SMS in the direction of combating human trafficking. He noted that SMS takes appropriate measures within its activity in the direction of the implementation of the documents related with the fight against human trafficking. Thus, joint activities with other government agencies are continued on legalization of foreigners and stateless persons who have grounds for residence on the territory of the country, raising awareness of the community about threats of human trafficking and illegal migration, elimination of forced labor, etc. The awareness raising events, “Open Door Days” – Civil forums, meetings, as well as mobile services are regularly organized in the capital and regions.
