Delegation led by the chairman of State Migration Service of Ukraine Maksym Sokoliuk visited Azerbaijan

The delegation led by the chairman of State Migration Service of Ukraine Maksym Sokoliuk first visited the Alley of Honors and laid flowers at the monument of national leader Heydar Aliyev and the grave of academician Zarifa Aliyeva, commemorated them with respect and reverence.

Then the heroes of our motherland, who sacrificed their lives in struggle for freedom and territorial integrity of our country, were commemorated flowers were laid at their graves in the Alley of Martyrs.

Later the meeting was held between the chief of State Migration Service (SMS) Vusal Huseynov and the delegation led by the chairman of State Migration Service of Ukraine Maksym Sokoliuk.

At the meeting, where the current situation of the relations and perspectives of the cooperation between the relevant bodies of two countries were discussed, it was mentioned that representatives of different nations, including Ukrainians live in a tolerant, friendly and amicable environment in our country, known in the world as a country where the multicultural values are dominated, national leader Heydar Aliyev had an important role in the establishment of bilateral relations, as well as the cooperation was developed to the level of the strategic partnership as a result of the political will of the President Ilham Aliyev and the leadership of Ukraine. It was noted that "Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine on Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership" and the "Declaration between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine on Friendship and Strategic Partnership" constitutes the basis of bilateral relations between our states.

Moreover, it was noted that the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on visa-free travel of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the citizens of Ukraine”, as well as “The Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Labor Activities and Social Protection of the citizens of Ukraine, temporarily working on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, temporarily working on the territory of Ukraine” is of great importance.  

At the meeting where efficient exchange of views on cooperation in migration field was held, the draft “Memorandum of Understanding between the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Migration Service of Ukraine in the field of migration”, as well as the draft “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Ukraine on readmission of the persons residing without authorization” were discussed and it was mentioned that the efforts for agreeing the both documents are continued.

Within the meeting, where opinion exchange was carried out on the effectiveness of the cooperation on bilateral and multilateral levels, as well as in the framework of the international organizations, the issues of interest for the parties were discussed the confidence was expressed for further continuation of mutual relations between the migration authorities of both countries, at the same time the necessity of mutual exchange of experience between the migration authorities was underlined.

It was noted that the visit of the delegation led by the chairman of the State Migration Service of Ukraine Maksym Sokoliuk will contribute to the development of the bilateral relations in the migration sphere.

Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Azerbaijan Olexander Mischenko participated in the meeting.

The delegation got acquainted with Heydar Aliyev Museum of the Service. The chairman of the State Migration Service of Ukraine Maksym Sokoliuk wrote his heartfelt words in the memory book of the Museum.

Later the guests got familiar with the Call Center and the Reception of Citizens and Consideration of Applications Division of the Service.

A number of meetings of the delegation are envisaged within the framework of the visit.
