Chief of State Migration Service met with the representative of World Health Organization in Azerbaijan

Chief of State Migration Service (SMS) Vusal Huseynov met with the head of Country Office of World Health Organization (WHO) in Azerbaijan Fatos Hande Harmanci in the administrative building of the Service.

During the meeting of introductory nature, V.Huseynov wished Mrs. Fatos Hande Harmanci success in her activity as the head of Country Office of World Health Organization in Azerbaijan. He touched upon the current situation and perspectives of relations between SMS and WHO Country Office in Azerbaijan.

The Service Chief gave information about the activity of SMS. He talked about the fundamental measures taken in the field of regulation and management of migration processes in the country and recent changes in the legislation. He noted that the legislation regulating the relations on migration is improved, registration of foreigners and stateless persons upon place of stay, grounds and terms of residence in the country, issuance of work permits, as well as the application of other relevant norms are facilitated.

Fatos Hande Harmanci, who started the activity as a head of the WHO Country Office in Azerbaijan since August of the current year, expressed gratitude for the meeting. She informed that the office of the organization in Azerbaijan had been functioning since 2004 and supported the country in various significant public health spheres.

Exchange of views was carried out on issues of mutual interest.
