Migration issues of foreign students are keeping in focus

On the eve of the new academic year, migration issues of foreign students were discussed at the meeting, which was held in the headquarters of State Migration Service with the participation of competent employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and about 40 higher education institutions functioning in Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the meeting, the chief of Migration Processes Regulation Head Department of State Migration Service Ismayil Abdullayev gave detailed information about the measures, carried out by State Migration Service for the management and regulation of migration processes in Azerbaijan, as well as the issues realized to ensure every foreign student’s compliance with the rules of stay and residence in the country. He noted that foreigners and stateless persons coming to the country via education visa can study in Azerbaijani universities. Submission of applications of foreign students for temporary residence permission should be provided by the universities, where they study for at least 30 days before the expiry date of the permission of stay or residence.

AT the meeting it was also noted that the competent employees of relevant departments of the universities dealing with foreign students should pay attention to this process.

At the end of the meeting, the questions of the participants were replied and issues that interested them were clarified.
